Everyone has a different pain threshold, some people might find it more uncomfortable than others. To minimise discomfort, topical aesthetics are used before and during your treatment to keep you comfortable throughout the procedure.
Eyebrows: Generally considered the least painful. Some people experience a slight scratchy sensation on some areas of the brow, but its definitely manageable. Most clients say they can't really feel anything during the procedure.
Eyeliner: 90% of my clients say they can feel a tickly sensation with very little discomfort. Most of my clients end up falling asleep during their eyeliner treatment.
Lips: Lips are quite sensitive, so this procedure can be more painful compared to eyebrows or eyeliner. The pain is usually manageable, you may also experience mild swelling after your treatment.
Throughout your treatment you will be toped up with numbing gel to ensure your comfort levels are manageable. Most clients are very surprised that they experience very little to no pain throughout the procedure.

Generally it takes around 10-14 days for your enhancement to fully heal. Some may take longer depending on your skin or if you have any medical condnitions that could prolong the healing process.
Please see pre & post treatment for further information on the healing process.

Although it's called permanent makeup, the pigments used are designed to soften over time. This helps to keep a true colour to your enhancement without it turning red, orange or blue over time.
The word permanent is used because although it fades it can sometimes leave a slight stain/shadowing in the skin.
Yearly colour boosts are recommended to keep your enhancement looking fresh.
Overall, while permanent makeup is designed to be long-lasting, it is not truly permanent in the way that traditional tattoos are. Regular maintenance is essential to keep your enhancement looking fresh and vibrant.

Permanent makeup typically lasts anywhere from 1 to 3 years. The longevity of the results depends on several factors, including:
Treatment style
Eyebrows typically lasts 1 to 3 years. Hair stroke used to create a hair stroke or combination brow tend to fade faster than ombre/powder brows, which involves a pixilated shading technique.
Eyeliner typically lasts longer than brows due to the higher carbon content in its pigments. While the pigment fades gradually, it will eventually lighten and require a colour boost.
Lips generally last 1-3 years. If you choose a natural colour it will fade out quicker than a more vibrant colour due to the constant renewal of the skin on your lips. Sun exposure and other elements like food, drinks, smoking, age, lifestyle and skin type can also influence the longevity of the colour.
Skin Type
Oily Skin: Tends to cause pigments to fade faster due to the natural oils breaking down the pigment particles.
Dry Skin: Typically holds pigment longer, resulting in longer-lasting results.
Skincare Routine: Using products with ingredients, such as Retinol, Retinol A, Hyaluronic Acid, Lytic Acid, Vitamin C & E, AHA, Glycolic Acid or Exfoliants near the treated area can cause the pigment to fade more rabidly.
Medical Background
Medications and medical conditions can affect how well the skin heals, which is important for pigment retention. Compromised healing may lead to patchy or uneven results.
Medications
Blood Thinners (e.g., aspirin, warfarin): Can increase bleeding, making it harder for pigment to settle properly and causing uneven results or faster fading.
Steroids: Can thin the skin, slowing healing and affecting pigment retention, leading to fading over time.
Antibiotics: Can increase skin sensitivity, slow healing, and cause discolouration, affecting how pigment settles. It's best to complete your course of antibiotic before your treatment.
Accutane (Isotretinoin): Can dry out and thin the skin, making it prone to scarring and reducing pigment retention. Wait 6–12 months after completing an Accutane course before receiving permanent makeup.
Other Medications: Certain medications (e.g., chemotherapy drugs, immunosuppressants) can increase sensitivity or risk of scarring, affecting pigment results.
Medical Conditions
Diabetes: Can cause slower healing and increased risk of fading or infection, affecting pigment retention.
Skin Disorders (e.g., eczema, psoriasis, rosacea): Can lead to scarring, inflammation, or uneven healing, affecting pigment retention and causing patchy results.
Hormonal Changes: Pregnancy, menopause, or hormone therapy can impact how the skin heals and retains pigment, leading to fading or discolouration.
Hyperpigmentation or Hypopigmentation: Conditions like melasma can cause uneven skin tone, affecting permanent makeup results.
Autoimmune Conditions: Can affect healing and skin health, increasing the risk of infection or uneven pigment retention.
Aftercare
Its important to care for your enhancement during the healing process. Following aftercare instructions will give your enhancement the best possible chance of healing which can help extend the life of your enhancement. This information will be given to you after your treatment.

Yes, but it depends on how much pigment is left in your skin from your last treatment. If your brows are saturated, uneven in colour, you dislike the shape or colour I will not reinforce something you're not happy with. If this is the case I will recommend 1-2 sessions of laser removal, the amount of sessions needed will depend on the depth of the old pigment.
If you think you might need correction work or laser removal sessions please contact Laura before booking.
